Update:-February 28 Air France flight attendants unions CGT and South Air have called for a strike from Wednesday February 27 to Sunday March 3. Not sure how this is effecting flights. Let us know.
22 February 2013 Air France flight attendants from three unions SNPNC, UNAC AND UNSA have made a tentative agreement with management. Will bring proposal to union members for a vote in the near future. AF reports yearly loss of 1.2 billion.

They will start striking anytime between tomorrow, Wednesday, 1800 UTC till Friday, February 1, 0500 UTC. 22 July 2012 Air France strike by pilots from a minor union according to Air France and to expect minor delays. If I'm flying this week with them, I don't consider my pilot minor at all in my travel plans. Strike is to start Wednesday - Sunday July 25 to 29. 28 June 2012 Plans for "Transform 2015" are made public today. No union has signed off on the deals. Coming to grips with the 5,000 or more staff threatened with layoffs. 6 July ground personnel to sign off on the deal, air crews end of July. Hopefully they will hold things together and not strike this summer.

7 February Update today Tuesday:- Air France say tomorrow Wednesday more flights will leave than today. Unions stating today that the strike is a huge success and that 60% of pilots have joined in the strike. A pilot who cancels a long haul flight to a strike may loose up to a 1/4 of his monthly salary. This is causing internal union unrest as lower unions don't have such a financial loss. 3,000 people turned up at airports today and had their flights canceled. Air France stated tonight (Friday 3 February) that on Monday it plans to fly over 80% of its short and medium flights. Longhauls 85% of them. You've called them, right!! They do not rule out on the spot cancellations. Britair will likely be joining in the industrial action. Ground handlers, refueling and baggage handlers may also join in. 19 July A couple of things are going on with Air France that you should know about this month.
First French pilots gave strike notice. Traditionally long-hauls fly. Short-hauls ie. travel between European cities maybe cancelled or severely delayed. Same for domestic travel.

1/29/09 Not so black. Gridlock in cities. For today's long haul flights to NY, 3 canceled this morning. Seems like they are flying. All but 3 lines of Metro working. Buses and trains as normal. Suburban trains lines into and around Paris were badly hit.
The national state-owned railway SNCF said traffic was normal on trains from Paris to other European capitals such as London and Zurich. It said the national high-speed TGV trains were running normally in eastern France, with traffic at 50 percent to 80 percent of normal levels in other parts of the country.

The pilots called their strike to protest new rules that would end the current requirement for them to retire at 60, forcing them to work until the age of 65. But the government has since offered to amend the reform so pilots would still be able to retire at 60 if they wished.
