Belgian air traffic controllers have been calling in sick calling flight delays still effecting flights from Brussels Airport and Charleroi Airport.
---
Flights spent spinning out of control today by a wildcat strike from not French but Belgian air traffic control. Issue over pension reforms. Which leaves you with a cancelled or brought forward or severely delayed flight. We do know strike will go into the night if not longer. For updates see www.easytravelreport.com or Belgian air traffic control strike page. Perhaps you need to know a new Greek general strike is being planned for May.
(How can this strike be legal, no notice. I'd expect union will incur heavy fines)

4 April Things have calmed down and flights back to normal. Issue still not resolved. All you have to worry about now perhaps:- Italian air traffic control strike and Greek Strikes. See our link above for this and other strikes that may effect you in France ie Toulouse Airport disruptions

1 April 2016 Airlines struggle to get flights back in line well into the evening.

French air traffic control strike is on:-
Wednesday 30 March 2016 Less disruption than expected. Marseille airlines have been asked to cut back flights by 33%. Making life difficult for international connections. Orly by 20%, Bordeaux minimal service in the morning. Nantes delays in the evening and night. Montpellier closed.

Less disruption is expected than last weeks delays.....

Double whammy if you are flying to Australia. Rolling strikes across the county due to border and immigration workers. Brussels airport still closed. Greece strikes planned for April 7. Air France does not even mention flight crews strike actions. 30% of them will be out.

Tuesday 29 March 2016 Starts tomorrow Wednesday, 30 March 2016 1700UTC
Ends Friday 1 April, 2016 0400 UTC

Over all less impact than last ATC strike is expected.

31 March, 2016 Trouble spots will be, call your airline.
Bordeaux minimum service in the afternoon
Charles de Gaulle Moderate delays in the morning
Marseille and Orly to be hit hard, by delays, cancellations or perhaps your flight will be brought forward.
Remember everybody flying will deal with the knock-on effect.

Update:- Saturday, 26 March 2016 A conference will take place Tuesday March 29, 2016 2pm local time to discuss impact. (No official strike notice has been given, perhaps in the recent circumstances workers will wise up) Follow the big NOP

Update:-23 March 2016 French air traffic controllers threaten more strike action next week if they don't get something in concrete. Perhaps in time with the General strike on the 31st.

Announced today Friday 22 January, 2016
Two thirds of French air traffic controllers to strike, Tuesday 26 January, 2016. Talks will be on going till Monday. It’s enough workers to not show up for work, that it will ruin your travel plans.

Be prepared for your flight to be brought forward to Monday, canceled or delayed. Airlines will likely be asked to cut back flights to and from France. No airport will get a pass.

Earlier this week a coalition of airlines was formed
“Airline for Europe” - EasyJet, Ryanair, Air France - KLM.

calls on all controllers strike from 24 to 29 June 2014.
This is an old festering bitter dispute. Here's the SNCTA in French announcement.

This will likely be a national shut down, grounding of flights. By law a certain percentage of flights have to run.
Call your airline. Your flight will be brought forward, cancelled or delayed. Don't get caught in a lay over in French customs. Do you have a French visa? That way you can sleep in a hotel instead of a cot on the international arrivals floor. Flying in and out of Paris? You might want to book a hotel and cancel when fit. Hotel and car hire will be slim pickings. Perhaps SNCF will put on extra trains. Eurostar will likely be booked.

Please if you have information pass it on to us.

2016 will be a tough year for passengers traveling to France. French air traffic controllers face severe cut backs and even closure of some control towers due to single skies policy implementation. Busiest controllers in Europe, 9,000 flights a day. Airline passengers will take the brunt of it, particularly national airline Air France. Other airlines who are not even flying to France will have to fly around French air space, adding time, delays and fuel. If you have a layover/changing planes in a French international airport make sure you have a French visa. This way ensuring you can be put up in a hotel instead of a cot parked outside the bathrooms in international arrivals terminal.
