15 May 2012 This past week-end a wave of sickness hit AUA's pilots. 24 domestic and international flights were canceled. Sickness may have to do with the 25% pay cut pilots will have to endure starting 1 July. Tyrolean pilots to fill in if this happens again. Airline management wish to impose cuts of 220 million euros. Airline management state the pilot sickness cost airline 500 million euros this weekend.
20 February Frankfurt airport is on strike this week causing Lufthansa Airlines to loose millions of Euro's this week. Can't help AU's cause.
12 February 2012 Austrian Airlines back in the news today. Will Lufthansa sell them, will they go into bankruptcy? As you can imagine employees are not happy. Flight attendants start negotiations on Valentines day.

Austrian Airlines under strike threat after negotiations failed, AUA Ground staff will now be balloted for strike. Next meeting 10 January, 2011 decisions will be made.
