From Trenitalia site:-Rome, October 11, 2012 will circulate regularly Frecciarossa , Frecciargento and Frecciabianca and more than 90% of the national Trenitalia trains during the strike declared by the union of drivers ORSA from 21 to Saturday 13 to Sunday, October 14 to 21 . Regarding trains regional transport , whose circulation program can be subject to some changes, please note that on Sundays are not guaranteed the minimum services of transportation, provided however during the time of increased mobility on weekdays. Trenitalia activated for information on toll free number 800 89 20 21 from 9.00 am to Friday, October 12 . Information about the strike may also be obtained at the ticket office and the assistance of the railway stations, travel agencies and through the new media of the FS Group Italian. The program trains in circulation will in fact also be consulted on trenitalia.com

14 June, 09 Trenitalia strike for eight hours 9am-5pm
March 14, 2009 Trenitalia personnel will be on strike for 24 hours, from 9 pm of March the 14th to 9 pm of March the 15th. Ferrovie dello Stato says the strike will only affect short-haul trains not medium and long-distance ones. However it has confirmed that in Rome the local direct train from Termini station to Fiumicino airport will run as usual. Ferrovie dello Stato suggests customers call for information on 892021 before travelling.

11/27/08 Italy, train strike delayed Transport minister Altero Matteoli has told unions to postpone a railway strike planned for Friday 28 November. The strike was organised to protest the firing of machinist, Dante De Angelis, for publically blaming inadequate maintenance and safety precautions, for a pair of incidents on 14 and 22 July in which sections of a Eurostar train came unattached while departing Milan’s central station. Though no one was injured, De Angelis said the accident was potentially disastrous.
While a new date for the strike has not been announced, it is unlikely to come before the end of the year.
11/7/08 Italy, Rome Train, bus and subway strike Monday Public Transport unions said Friday they called a 24-hour nationwide transport strike, set to begin at 9 p.m. (2000 GMT) Sunday. The Italian government and the country's associations representing truckers threatening to go on strike next week will resume talks Wednesday as they couldn't reach an agreement late Tuesday. Italian truckers have called a five-day strike starting next Monday to protest high fuel prices.
The government is willing to award funds for EUR300 million to the sector to alleviate the pressure of higher fuel costs, but the unions are asking for an additional EUR240 million, the paper adds fxstreet.com
