To travel from the East Midlands to London Stansted, simply travel with East Midlands Trains to Ely, then change for an Arriva CrossCountry service to Stansted.

So last year
3/28/2010 London East Midlands trains is expecting to run a normal daytime service on main routes if  strike by signallers and maintenance workers goes ahead. National Rail strike is from 6-9 April, 6am-10am and 6pm-10pm. 

7/28/09 Strike called off, reached a pay deal per ASLEF

7/22/09 Planned strikes this Friday and next Monday (24 and 27 July) will not now go ahead. New offer, 2.5% has been put forward and changes to terms and conditions. Union leaders will now mull this over and decide whether to recommend the offer to its members on Monday.

7/18/09 Rail line East Midlands train drivers now plan on having 6 days of strike action over the next few weeks. Per, East Midland, they will run a minimum of 70 trains and put on a replacement bus service. All East Midlands train routes effected.
London, St. Pancras reduced train service.  No trains from Corby and Kettering, Stagecoach instead.
Sparse train service between Nottingham and Skegness. Buses will replace train routes.

Union ASLEF have rejected pay offer.
Strike, disruptions set for:-
Friday, 24, July, 2009, 
Monday July 27,
Friday July 31
Monday August 3
Friday August 7
Monday August 10.

RMT, coinciding, National Express, East Anglia train strike dates and times.

East Midlands will lay on replacement buses on Leicester's routes. New timetable will be posted on Monday.
Tim Shoveller, managing director of East Midlands Trains, said: "We are extremely angry that our passengers are set to suffer disruption to their important rail services because of a crazy decision by the union."

Train drivers for London services have been offered a 3% increase, taking their pay to around £38,500 a year, 35 hour, four-day week!

7/20/09 London Midland’s managing director Steve Banaghan has quit, new boss Mike Hodgson. 

He is succeeded by Mike Hodgson, formerly operations 

6/30/09 First 48-hour strike is due to begin on Wednesday, July 1, with other strikes stopping trains every Wednesday and Thursday until July 16.

6/25/09 East Midlands Trains and the ASLEF drivers union agreement. The rail operator will now be running normal train services on July 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16. Only suspended to allow further consideration of a revised pay offer.

London Midland, runs services out of Watford Junction, Kings Langley and Bushey.

June 09, A skeleton timetable on all their services on Sundays because most of their drivers are making themselves unavailable for work is still going on.

Strike still on for this Sunday 7  June 09,  Sunday service on Hucknall, Bulwell and Newstead's Robin Hood train line.
East Midlands director said"they have gone to the High Court in an attempt to force drivers to work and get Sunday services back on track." 
Drivers are under no obligation to work on Sundays, they do it on a voluntary but are paid non the less.

5/29/09 Lets start again. East Midlands strike, Sunday 31 May, 2009. Hucknall, Bulwell and Newstead's Robin Hood Line.  Sporadic service will be in effect. Passengers will be provided with a replacement bus- service into Nottingham or Mansfield. More information at 0870 0101296. Skeleton service for all Sunday services.

5/18/09 Industrial action by London Midland train services have been called off after an agreement in the long running issue of Sunday hours. 

Union RMT rail bosses London Midland fail to come to an agreement. Sunday strikes have been called off  in replace: Two 24 hour strikes on Tuesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 21. What would you rather have?
