Friday February 12, 2010 CSA Czech Airlines put up its entire fleet as a guarantee against loans offered by banks and the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade. The airline desperate for cash to maintain operations and expects to report a record full-year loss of 115 million ($158.2 million) for 2009.

8/26/09 Czech Airlines (ČSA) company management including President Radomír Lašák offered to resign if employees accept a 15 percent to 30 percent pay cut. Routes to NY, Toronto, and Manchester, UK cancelled. 6 Aircraft for sale and laying off 860 employees.
Union CZALPA declares indefinite strike and ČSA air engineers and technicians are also considering strike action.

8/18/09 CSA Czech Airlines management detailed its employee reduction plans. 860 of its 4,600 employees will be let go and the cuts will affect all areas of the company. The carrier will lay off about 140 pilots (about 25%) 240 flight attendants and 15 percent of pen pushers.
