3 June,09 Wednesday. Local 5004 of the Union of Health Professionals and Allied Employees are locked out this evening from Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. Talks have broke down. Nurses are picketing and management have replacement workers already.Full article found at nj.com
3 June, 09 Wednesday, Accusations flying around left right and center today. President of the Health Professionals and Allied Employees union Ann Twomey, quit the Bayonne Medical Center's Board of Trustees. Accused the the hospital of breaking state rules and wrote a letter to the New Jersey's attorney general asking for a state investigation of the hospital. President of BMC writes his own letter to the state.

2 June 09 BMC in four day cooling off. One-day strike this Saturday. Hospital saying it will replace any striking workers.
5/31/09 Sunday, Meadow Lands, Palisade Medical Center and Christ Hospital have all made a deal leaving Bayonne Medical Center out in the cold. BMC employees will vote tomorrow.

5/29/09 New Jersey, Bayonne Medical Center has planned a one day strike 2 June 2009. Hospital has threatened to lock 843 union members out if they walk of the job on June 7. Contract ends 30 May, 2009. Negotiations on going.
Other hospitals involved:-
Meadowlands Hospital in Secaucus, 450 employees and members of HPAE threatening strike,
technical, ancillary, housekeeping, dietary and maintenance workers.
Palisade Medical Center in North Bergen,800 HPAE registered nurses and professional, technical and service workers
Christ Hospital in Jersey City, talks on going, 450 HPAE employees have NOT called for strike, yet,
Main union complaints over patient nurse ratio, job security, benefits and pensions.
Bayonne Medical Center, will stay open if employees strike and bring in outside workers. Bayonne Medical Center offered staff a bonus equal to two weeks of pay or an average per employee payout in excess of $1,700 if a contract is ratified by midnight on May 27. The bonus is in addition to a 3.1 percent increase given to all union employees in March.
