1/14/10 Unite T&G union and management at First Aberdeen have agreed to a new contract.

7, Jan, 2010 Aberdeen bus strike threat over changes in contract that could effect established drivers. Future drivers will earn £9.40 per hour, no shift allowance, no sick pay, five days less vacation, work more hours, no pension scheme, no overtime rate or paid meal break. Union will meet Jan. 14.

6 September, 09 Tomorrow ballots will be counted by union members as to whether to except First Bus offer. City to host Offshore Europe event. Don't want to tarnish Aberdeen's reputation. 40,000 thousands of oil sector professionals expected to attended.

31, August,09 Monday, new strike, two hours Tuesday, 1, September, 09 in the afternoon.  Expect more industrial action next week.

27 August Bus driver strike Aberdeen cancelled for this Friday.

25 August, 09 Aberdeen bus driver dispute still on going.
Both parties made headway and will meet again tomorrow.

18 August, 09 Just incase you thought industrial dispute was over.. A series of further two hour walk outs are planned between now and the end of September.

7/30/09  Travel, rush-hour chaos was predicted after union members agreed to walk out between 3pm and 5pm on eight selected days until the end of September, having already caused disruption with an all-day strike on July 16.

7/20/09 Monday, accusations flying around today.  Management complaining about a small minority making “malicious” disruption to the business, that drivers are driving slowly and fictitious defects with vehicles. Management asking for pay freeze this year, even though union asking for 4 percent raise and more holiday's it's a 52 percent raise in reality.

Expect chaos all week-end, new schedule to be rolled out on Sunday for the coming week.

16 July, 09  an all-day strike.

15 July.First is planning to operate a free 30 minute service on every route between 7am and 7pm. Bob Dorr, managing director of First in Aberdeen, said: "I would like to apologize to passengers for any disruption they may face on Thursday.

"Our aim has always been to avert industrial action and we are obviously extremely disappointed that the union is pressing ahead with the strike.

"To compensate our passengers for any inconvenience, all journeys will be free on Thursday."

11 July 09 Union and management for First Bus Aberdeen  have hopes that issues will be resolved before Thursdays planned industrial action. Will meet again on Tuesday. 

9 July, 09 Staff at First Bus voted for industrial action.  Strike to be Thursday, 16 July, 09. followed up with a ban on overtime and a work to rule, go-slow and passengers face being dumped off buses.less. Only a third of Union members actually turned out to vote.

7/7/09 70 per cent of the members of the T&G Unite union, employed by First Bus in Aberdeen, have voted in favour of strike action.  Could come in two weeks.

3 July, 09  Sounds like a PR disaster. T&G Unite union are furious with First Bus who placed an advert in local papers claiming that First Bus  staff are seeking a 52 percent pay raise?  Tuesday ballot results due.

6/26/09 The ballot results will be announced around 7 July.

5/27/09 500 members of the Unite T&G union, including drivers, depot staff and cleaners, were expected to agree to a ballot on strike action in pursuit of a new pay increase.

8 December, 08 First admitted today's industrial action led to 20 buses being taken off the road today. disruption to  bus services every day between now and the end of the strike on Sunday. 6 Dec 08 Travel, Christmas shopping nightmare for First Bus passengers, Aberdeen.  24 hour strike starting 3am Saturday.  Operator Stagecoach will still be running its fleet of buses in the city at the weekend. Two more two day strikes are coming later this month. 12 and 19 December 2008

11/28/08 Aberdeen, striking First bus have decided on three weekends to strike.  24-hour strike is planned from 0300 GMT on Saturday 6 December, with 48-hour stoppages planned to start on the following two Fridays. 12 and 19 December.
