Update:-GDL German rail strike back on again this time from Tueday, 2pm 10 May to Friday 13 May 2pm. Veolia, AKN Eisenbahn, Prignitzer Eisenbahn, Hohenzollerische Landesbahn, Bayerische Regiobahn, Berchtesgadener Land Bahn and Ostseeland Verkehr are all subject to the strikes. 18 April German train drivers strike today. Strike will last 60 hours and will start at 2pm local time.
13 April Here they go. 21 private rail companies (see below) operating all over Germany, not DB or Keolis. 48 hour German rail strike, GDL drivers strike this Thursday and Friday, starting Wednesday midnight till Friday midnight.

31 March German train drivers on strike today. 26,000 GDL union train drivers to strike. Good news is DB and Keolis are not effected. Started 3am and will continue till Saturday, 1 April, 2am. Abellio, Arriva, Benex, Veolia, Verkehr, Hessische Landesbahn and subsidiaries. Northern Germany will suffer the most. MetronomHamburg to Bremen, Cuxhaven, Hannover and Gottingen. Veolia Saxony-Anhalt is cancelled.

26 Feb German union members will be balloted over the next ten days for longer strikes. Perhaps they are perhaps planning something over Easter. Long week-end will start Thursday evening. Easter Sunday, 24 April. Thousands will be on the move in Europe.

If flying from any German airport, perhaps you should leave home on Sunday! Will start in time for early morning commute, end?

8 Feb. Update:-Public works strike in Hanover region today, bus and metro drivers did not show up for work along with a 1,000 public workers.
5. Feb. S-Bahn train and U-Bahn metro workers on strike till midnight. another transportation strike this coming Monday. Dusseldorf and Cologne/Bonn airports have been hit with delays. Powerful union Verdi has called on several thousand employees in Hesse, Saarland, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt to strike today.

Union IG Metall want a better deal for its 3.6 million workers. Strikes will start following Monday the 17 Nov. IG Metall wants 8 percent raise, employees offering 2.9 percent.
