Tuesday 12 July 2016 The Antigua and Barbuda Workers union (ABWU) met with management of Caribbean Airport Services (CAS) to discuss the strike at VC Bird International Airport.
Strike was on the week-end 9/10 July included Customer Service Reps after talks broke down. Liat took the brunt of the strike action several flights were delayed.

11 February 2012 Yesterday it was reported that air traffic controllers had a sick-out yesterday. This follows a similar incidence at the end of December last year. Luckily controllers in the afternoon shift reported for work and no flights were delayed

6 March 09 The extension on Runway 07 is complete.

8 January, 2009 Highly annoying two week old"flow control" suspended.  Liat relieved.  Serious financial loss and reputation loss for Antigua.  Airlines lost thousands due to cancelations.

6 January, 2009 Liat is suffering badly with Air Traffic Controllers "flow control"  In other words only one plane allowed to land every 20 mins. Airport closed the fifth for a new generator and airport closed the 6th for runway resurfacing.  Expect delays due to the Air Traffic Controllers to drag on.
