THE number of working days lost through strikes topped one million last year, almost 250,000 more than the previous 12 months, figures showed yesterday.
A total of 1.041 million working days were lost last year, compared with 755,000 in 2006, although the number of strikes fell from 158 to 142, according to the Office for National Statistics. thescotsman
