​Madrid Metro Strike
27 June, 2018 Another Madrid Metro strike. Strike will be for 24 hours on Saturday,
7 July, 2018. A meeting will be planned the day before to decide on whether or not to strike or continue strike action.
It's Gay Pride week and for the second year in a row unions threaten strike action when this parade comes to town.

Monday 4, Friday, 8 and 15 June, 2018. Issue over asbestos removal.
Minimal service will run between these hours
6:05am - 10:15am  and after lunch 1:20 - 9:30pm.


29 May 2017 Madrid Metro Line 5 will be closed early July till beginning of September.


Madrid Metro Strike
This time strike will last for five days
The Union of Train Drivers of Metro de Madrid (SCMM) called strike action from 1pm, Wednesday, 28 June to Sunday 2 July, 2017 ending at midnight.
Coincides with World Pride, 10 days, Madrid expects 2.5 million visitors.
Last strike saw only 10% of members striking.

TRACK REPAIRS - Line 8
To and from Madrid - Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport and Nuevos Ministerios central madrid.
Track work will start January 26, 2017. 16.5 Kilometers of track, workers will work 24 hours, 7 days a week to get work completed and opened by April 18.
Route will be covered by a bus service.

Update:-17 May 2017 Unions for Madrid Metro threaten new longer strike action in the next few weeks.

Update yesterday 10 April, 2017 67% of trains were running. Those that did run, run at a snails pace.

Madrid Metro workers will strike Monday April 10, 2017
5:50 am to 8:30 am and every Monday there after indefinitely. 


Last strike
Hell for commuters, passengers will flood onto other private transportation, expect shortage of taxi’s. Plan your trip to Madrid Airport ahead.
Strike days:-
Friday 24, February, 2017 6:05 am - 8:40am and in the afternoon 1:20pm - 4:25pm and evening 5pm - 7.55pm
Monday 27 February, 2017 same strike times.
and every Friday there after same time.
Trains will be running throughout the day, 59% of service, fight for a spot.

Thursday April 18, 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM  
Thursday April 25, 5:30 PM - 7:30PM
and Friday, 26 April, 6:30 AM - 8:30

Old industrial actions
Madrid bidding on 2020 Olympics. Madrid subway to have partial strikes, March 19, 20 and 21 just for three hours a day while International Olympic Committee is in town.
Expect street demonstrations all week. Traveling to and from Madrid Airport you should find these times useful.

      Station staff 6-9 AM
      Drivers 6:30 - 9:30 AM
      Metro closed 5:30 - 8:30 PM

December 24 - New Years Eve partial strikes.

26 December 6am - 9am limited service
28 December 1:50 to 3:50 afternoon limited service and from 10:30 at night for two hours
29 6 - 9 PM limited service
30 1 - 3 PM limited service
31 5 - 7 PM limited service

January 4, Friday 24 hour metro strike
January 5, Saturday, again 24 hour strike planned. (Management threatening unions by perhaps setting minimal service at 100%!)
January 6 Three Kings, public holiday.
