16, August, 2010 You are good to go with this airport.  No BAA strike here, come on down! Airports effected will be Southampton, Heathrow, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.  Remember car hire will be hard to find. Train tickets limited. Going to Scotland, Virgin trains will be busy. Also London City airport will not be involved in the strike and BA flies out of there for Scotland.

12 August, 09 Ryanair announced new base at Leeds Bradford International Airport opening March, 2010 and will bring  a 1,000 “well-paid”'new jobs to West Yorkshire. Airline will bring tourists and business visitors, expectations of a million passengers per year.  First flight 27 March, 2010, just before Easter.
The new routes will take Ryanair’s total number of destinations from Leeds Bradford to 17,destinations in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Ibiza, Ireland, Poland, Malta and Majorca. 14 new routes and 63 weekly return flights to and from Leeds Bradford in an investment worth more than £84m in the airport.
