Update:-Taxi strike Monday and Tuesday, 12/13 September.
Greek Taxi strike this Thursday, 8 September, starting 5am, lasting 24 hours. Following Saturday, 10 September a taxi strike is also being planned. Be prepared for delays, leave for airport early. Traffic to Athens airport maybe down to one lane. You may find ports blocked and have to lug your luggage. All other forms of transport will be working. Drs and dentist next 48 hours, next week garbage men.

Update:- Day 1 Monday 18 July Greek taxi drivers today blocked access to Port of Piraeus. 10 cruise ships in port, 16,000 passengers. Cruise go-ers disembarked into buses only to get blocked in traffic jams. Road to Athens airport was blocked. The only  lane left open was backed up for miles. focus-fen.net

16 July There is a 48 hours Taxi Strike in Athens-Greece. Starts on 18-July-2011 5.00 am and finishes on 20-July-2001 5.00am. Taxi union threatens to block roads to airport and ports. Issue over permits. Government reducing permit cost from €80,000 euros to just €3,000. Stargroup above will have minibuses running.
