Cape Air pilots voted for teamster representation three years ago and still don't have a contract.

Cape Air pilots also are unhappy that they voted for Teamster representation three years ago and still do not have a contract. An independent organization has filed to replace IBT at Cape, with a vote expected this month. Pilots at North American Airlines "are also expressing their desire to oust the Teamsters," Hoffa stated. Other unhappy Local 747 pilot groups are at Republic Air, Gulfstream International, Omni Air International and Kalitta Air. Additionally, Hoffa's letter alleged that certain officers of Local 747, including President Ernest Sowell, "may have engaged in financial improprieties relating to their compensation and to the payment of legal fees." Hoffa appointed Dave Ross as temporary trustee and Dan Brannan as assistant trustee of Local 747.
